The Ken McDonald Women’s Golf Association began as the Tempe Women’s Golf Club with the first formal season in 1976-77. KMWGA offers league play to its members on Tuesday mornings November through May. The league provides friendly and fun competitions and an opportunity to make new friends. Our events are flighted, so all levels have a chance to win prizes.
Each week there is a fun “Play of the Day”, and the annual membership dues cover prize money; there is no extra fee to participate in the POD. Monthly we have a shotgun start which allows everyone to enjoy lunch together afterwards. Other fun tournaments include 4-person scrambles, an Eclectic Tournament, a Partner Best Ball Tournament along with the President’s Cup and Club Championship tournaments.
KMWGA offers three membership types, Regular Season Membership, Associate Membership (handicap privileges only) and Short Season Membership for our winter visitors arriving after January. We are sanctioned through Arizona Golf Association (AGA) and membership includes USGA handicapping services (GHIN) through the AGA.
We would love to have you come join the fun! To find out more, email us at kenmcdonaldwga@gmail.com

Having lived in the Tempe community for over 30 years, when Naomi was asked to join KMWGA at the beginning of 2021, the Ken McDonald location was perfect for an opportunity to learn to golf, and the welcoming nature of the women in the league sealed the deal. She has worked on several committees and in this role looks forward to continuing her contributions to the success of our league. As Handicap and Membership Chair, Naomi monitors postings to keep the Association in compliance with USGA regulations and AGA requirements. Additionally, she provides information to prospective members and assists new members in learning the ropes of league play.
Penny is retired and joined KMWGA in 2022. As Tournament Director, she oversees all tournament competitions and provides each committee with the guidance and resources needed to put on our tournaments and special events.
